Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest 8 year old!

Sleepy

My littlest sister is "sleeping over" in my room tonight. She was tired, and so I turned on some lullaby music to help her sleep. She was out before the first song was over. I continued listening while looking at pictures, waiting for this image to upload. Well, that was an hour ago! Now I have forgotten anything I wanted to say and I am just very sleepy. This happens to be an adorable pumpkin though! I was looking at pictures from the past two missions trips, and was reliving memories. :-)

Maybe tomorrow I will have a more congruent blog post that actually goes with the picture.

Fresh Food and a Grateful Heart

I chose this photo today because of what I got to do yesterday! I went the Redig's house and spent the afternoon with Barb! One of the things we did was cook! We made chili for the hayride tonight using peppers and tomatoes from her garden. We also made pumpkin bars! I love cooking -especially when it is with fresh ingredients!

Mike and Barb are such a blessing in my life. I am grateful for the things they have taught me, from life skills to spiritual things. I would not be who I am today without them. God has used them in a big way in my life, and I thank God for them every day.

Stand Out in the Crowd!

Be willing to live boldly for Christ, even if it means you may be a little different! Don't be afraid to go against the flow. Be in this world, not be of this world. Be yourself. God created you to be special!

Abundance

We have so much to be thankful for. God is good! What are some things that the Lord provides for you every day, that you overlook?

At the End of the Day

Sometimes at the end of the day I feel so drained, like I have no creativity left in my bones. I was trying to think of what I would say in this post. But I could not think of anything. Sometimes I feel pulled in so many directions at once that it is hard to center my thoughts enough to make any sense.

In the world of photography today, I took some senior pictures for my sister and also for a family friend! I am pleased with the way they turned out. I was/am nervous about it because it will be the first pictures I have taken for a non-family member. Even though these friends are practically family!

Here are some photos I took a couple weeks ago! I love the contrast of blue and yellow, and they would make really good background or wallpaper photos!

If you like these photos, I do not mind you using them as your wallpaper or backgrounds! I only ask that you do not use them somewhere and take the credit.

I have to go to court tomorrow because of the accident and I am super scared! If you would pray for me it would be much appreciated!

Carry Me!

This was so cute! The Mama monkey carrying her baby across the water. I love the way its little tail is wrapped around hers!

The water looks really cool in this picture! I actually took this from the ski-lift ride thing. It was kind of a challenge to take a picture of a moving object from a moving object, while I am zoomed in really closely. But I am pleased with the way it turned out! :) Very cute! (If I do say so myself)

Follow the Butterflies!

 One of my favorite exhibits was the butterfly garden. It was a nice little indoor garden with all sorts of pretty butterflies living happily! (Some of the exhibits make me sad, because the animals do not seem very happy.) Butterflies are fun to photograph!

 In the hallway between the butterflies and the other insects, there were windows where you could see the chrysalises (is that a word?) and cocoons. Some were even hatching! (Is that what you call it?)

 

Before you become a Christian, you are like a caterpillar. Once you give your life to the Lord, He begins to transform you in to who He has created you to be! A beautiful butterfly!

 

Animals Are Silly!

I am making this post to cheer you up if you are feeling down! Sometimes animals do the funniest things! :-) I hope this brightens your day a little!

I have made this post with my cousin in mind! He is such a great person who is very under appreciated by a lot of people, and going through a super hard time right now. He loves animals and I sure hope he is cheered up by this! I sure hope these make you smile! :-D have a good night!

Day 8 *OR* I Am Not Feeling Creative

Some nights I just do not know what to type. You are lucky the title is not "IMG_4714" or something like that! Maybe the title could be "Bird In Tree." Who knows. But in anycase, here it is!

AHH! I Almost Forgot!

I nearly forgot to do my post today! My beloved is home from college on fall break :-D (he gets a long weekend) and was over at my house. After he went home, I got ready for bed and got all snuggled in, then it dawned on me! I don't always like it when things dawn on me at when I am wanting to sleep. (Get it? Dawn. Like the sun is rising? Sorry for my bad jokes.) I got through about 100 of the nearly 500 pictures today-YIKES! This will take me a long time! Here is the first picture I am going to share:

I really like this photo because it looks like he is wishing the fence was gone. I was wishing it was gone too! I would have gotten much better pictures without fences and glass walls to deal with!

I almost didn't do it!

I came very close to saying, "forget this!" tonight because I am SO EXHAUSTED! I even was planning how I would explain it in tomorrow's post. But then I started to feel guilty. So, without further ado... Here is my super quick post!

Photo Contest!

Here is my quick post before the Zoo! I entered in the Iowa Department of Agriculture's Fall Photo Contest last year, and I got third place. This year I entered again, with two pictures this time. I am currently tied for first place! (The winner is whoever gets the most "likes") Here are the two pictures I have entered in the contest!

As an aside, thank you everyone who prayed for me. I am feeling stiff and sore today, and found some more bruises, but I am doing fine!

Scary and Sad

 Today the scariest thing ever happened to me. I was in a car accident. I am okay, just a little banged up. My most wonderful car, however, is not. :-( I could not think of a more appropriate post than a picture of my car, before it died. My little sister told me my car went to heaven. Now, I do know that cannot happen, but it was sweet anyway! R.I.P Red Baron. 

My little car. Oh, you were old in years but young in spirit. Not even a hundred thousand miles did you have. I will miss all the drives home from work in the summer, feeling so free from everything. I will never forget you. I know I will get a new vehicle, but I never can replace you!

I am so glad I have these pictures of my favorite memories. This was Christmas day 2011- it was 50 degrees! I had not even owned my car for a month. I got it washed and we drove around town with Christmas music blaring after Church.

The Lord was watching over me, and I am so thankful for the way He protected me. No one was hurt. Everything is going to be okay. He protected me beyond my belief. One doctor told me I was lucky. I said, "I am not lucky. God is good!"

There were multiple good things that came out of today. #1: I was able to see how many people truly love me. It meant so much to realize (once again) that I have so much support. #2 I was able to make friends with a very nice lady at the hospital who seemed in need of encouragement! #3 I am hoping that my attitude during all of this will give me a chance to share why I am different from others.

Thank you for all of the prayers and cinnamon rolls and support! Thank you for reading! (FYI: we are still going to the zoo tomorrow! I will have to do a post in the morning and then one on Saturday night!)

Wednesday Nights!

Wednesday nights are going to be the hardest night for this project! I have Church and usually do not get home till late. But for you, my faithful viewers I will stay up a little later and get this done! So, without further ado... Here is the final picture of my ring!

On Friday we are going to the Omaha Zoo and this past Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch. Stay tuned for more interesting photos!

Here is Day Two! *OR* What Did I Get Myself Into?

My problem with blogging is that I never know what to say. So, instead of randomly rambling about who knows what, here is the photo of the day!

Let's see if I can do it!

Taking one picture a day for a year is something that I would love to try and do next year! However, I am bad at keeping new habits. I have tried and failed multiple times to journal daily. Thankfully I am able to remember to read my Bible and pray every day! So, I am going to try to get in the habit of doing a photography related thing every day. I am going to try to post one photo a day (although there will be a few days when I am away from my computer.) Starting with the new year I will post the pictures I take each day. Here is day number one of my attempt to start a new habit!

I promised pictures of my ring, and for the next few days that is what you will get! :) He did such a wonderful job choosing it! Jewelry is hard to photograph, you want it sparkly but not too shiny. It is also a little scary to put my precious ring in all these different places- I was afraid I would lose it! Check back tomorrow for another picture! (Hopefully) ~God Bless!
